and after (DIY softbox)[/su_column][/su_row]

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″] This is what you’ll need:

  • A white plasic bag. Go to your local “snackbar”, get yourself some delicius fries. Ask for a plasic bag to bring your fries home. Throw away the fries and tada: you have a plastic bag!
  • A speedlight or similar flash. Your pop-up might work too.

  • Tape
  • About 12 straws (bring a few extra, just in case)
  • Scissors

This is what you do:

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]

Step 1:
Build a small frame that should fit in the bottom of the plasic bag. You can connect the straws by making a small incision in the top of the straw. Then sqeeze the tip together. Now you can slide the next straw over the first one. Secure with tape if nessesarry. See next steps.. [/su_column][su_column size=”1/2″]

Step 1.2:
Sqeeze together, the next straw will slide right over. Bonus points if you can guess what hoodie i’m wearing[/su_column][su_column size=”1/2″]

[/su_column][/su_row][su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]

Step 2:
This is a good moment to check if your frame fits in the bottom of the bag. If this isn’t the case; cut, reassamble and try again.[/su_column][su_column size=”1/2″]

[/su_column][/su_row][su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]

Step 3:
Attach legs to the frame at the corners. Use those skills you picked up in kindergarten![/su_column][su_column size=”1/2″]

[/su_column][/su_row][su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]

Step 4:
Attach for more straws. Make sure the bendy part is on the far side of the frame.[/su_column][su_column size=”1/2″]

[/su_column][/su_row][su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]

Step 5:
Now attach your frame to your flash.
Oh boy, that looks janky..[/su_column][su_column size=”1/2″]

[/su_column][/su_row][su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]

Step 6:
Pull the bag over the frame. Use some tape to secure it.
